I was thinking about a comment about convergence meaning merging made me think about driving and the traffic coming together in the same lane. When I think about convergence I think about things coming together but ending up creating new directions rather than aligning.
When I apply this to thinking about research I'm reminded of Elliot Eisner's discussion of the tensions in Arts Based Research--he invites us to see how this work can reshape how research has been thought of rather than just trying to do the same thing qualitative has traditionally done. How can we think about new media's role in the same way?
